It’s Thursday! School’s out for the day. We are picking Kim and David up from the air port tonight and then probably taking them somewhere for dinner. (I am rooting for upstream but who knows) Then we are going to the cowtown kickoff party at the Sydney tonight where the blacktop ramblers are playing. Kim and David are teaching a stroll lesson. I have no idea what that is, but I am sure it will be fun.
I was wrong about last night. It was advanced Bolero. We just continued to work on the pattern we learned last week. It was a half a basic to an open break to an under arm turn then the left foot (for follows) steps out to the left and the quick quick steps continue back (technical dance language I know) then a simple pass. I am not sure whether or not this is the end of the pattern, but that’s all that we learned
We spent a lot of the class working out the ups and downs of Bolero (though not to the level it should be done at yet) and working on our arms and what they need to be doing.
Tonight we are going to hopefully be dancing at the Sydney. I know that the floor isn’t all that big, so I am hoping that there is space for everyone. I am not sure exactly how much dancing we are going to be doing James and I, but I am sure that it is going to be a good time. Tomorrow morning starts the classes. The first thing I am excited about is not having to go to school. The second thing I am excited about is not having to wake up at 4:20 to lifeguard at the pool. Thank Goodness.
