Yes, it’s been a while, I know. I haven’t quite been dancing every day, but it’s been close. Now that school is in full swing, I feel that I can be a little more accountable for updating this thing, plus with Cowtown Jamborama coming up, I am sure there will be a lot of things that need to be written down.
Here’s the dance agenda for the week:
Monday-Practice Practice Practice. There is a practice session at Jitterbugs tonight. We may or may not go. I don’t think it would be a bad idea, but we also have some aerials that we should work on that we don’t want to do until Cowtown.
Tuesday- Practice Practice Practice. I need to spend some time with the Big Apple. When I go through it on the way to work in my head (as I often do with dancing) There are about 3 8 counts that I cannot remember. I want to practice this routine and the tranky do over lunch this week, but will probably practice these with James Tuesday night. Plus aerials and footwork stuff.
Wednesday- Advanced Foxtrot Class. We started last week working on moves that pass through closed instead of stopping at closed. This is a challenge for both James and I. We have talked a lot about putting some foxtrot into our lindy hop, and it will be good when I know foxtrot even better than I do!
Thursday-possibly Advanced Bolero and beginning Tango. My guess is we will be missing ball room this day. We pick up Kim and David at like 5 pm, so we may skip out on classes this night. There will be a great Rockabilly night at Gator O’Malleys though and Kim and David are teaching a stroll lesson. SO, we will be doing some stroll, maybe some lindy hop, maybe some rockabilly, and getting to chill out with some great instructors. I have a new dress I am breaking out for this night. It’s pretty cute if I say so myself.
Friday- Cowtown Jamborama full day of classes! Jack and Jill Competition at night.
I am looking forward to Movementum and Balboa Swing classes this day plus the other classes that are being offered.
Saturday-Cowtown Jamborama full day of classes! Anyswing competition at night
Air steps, social dips and tricks, and advanced bal-swing are the ones that are really catching my eye for Saturday, but there will be others to write about too!
Sunday- Full morning of classes. I have to miss the first class due to church, but hopefully we will be taping portions of the classes or us doing the moves from the classes so that I can post them on here as the weekend goes by. There is a musicality class and an all-skate private lesson that will be great for the day on Sunday.
Maybe we can even find a time this week to get a private lesson in with one of the instructors, but if not, I am sure there will be lots of great work on our dancing that’s happening this week.
Look for more posts!
