It’s a busy drama filled time of year. School is winding down, so there is the business that comes with that.
I have had some unnecessary drama here at school, and that has greatly impacted my willingness and motivation when it comes to dancing. It’s sad that something can come in to your life and take over and keep you from doing things that really make you happy. I have spent a lot of the last few weeks wasting energy on a project that got taken away from me. That’s the short story. Ask me if you want the long story… lol
That being said, there has been dancing still.
I would love to get a video up of the tranky doo now. I feel so much more comfortable with it. I have started this practice with routines where I just pick a random song and do the routine to it. I think that this practice really solidifies the routine. I often find myself listening to 40’s on 4 in the car and seeing what songs work with what routines. I would greatly suggest this practice if you are trying to get better at your memory.
James and I are trying to work more aerials into our dancing. This is not for social practice obviously, but for our own purposes.
The lindy throw (or helicopter, or lindy flip, or what have you) is next on our agenda. This move scares me a little because James is so tall, but I think it should be pretty easy to put together. I would also like to get the egg beater (I am sure that’s not really what it’s called) down and get them both into common practice.
We are moving a week from Saturday. This will also do good things for our dancing. We will finally have space in which to dance. We will be able to practice without worrying about hitting the cafe table, or the rock band drums.
Where do you practice? How do you practice? I would love to hear your answers to these questions. I would like to get in to a routine for practicing much like there is a routine to rehearsals. My goal for the week is to blog more!!
