It’s been a while since I have written, but there has been a lot of dancing. My goals are finally being met. I have danced every day in the past two weeks!
This week has been devoted to practicing for Heartland Swing Fest competitions. James and I are entering the Jack and Jill, and the any swing goes. I am also entering the Pro/Am jack and jill, and have even debated entering the solo vintage jazz competition. I should figure out what I am doing. I am sure I wouldn’t win, but I am starting to gain confidence that I can compete. I might try to decide by the end of the day. Over lunch I am going to dance a little solo jazz in between working on a project for my class.
This week James and I have really been getting things together and they are coming smoothly. I wish that I had follow skills of an advanced dancer, but I know that I will get there. James and have been working on routines of sorts. and they have been getting smoother every night. I just wish that overnight I could figure out how to make it look effortless 🙂 James and I came up with a new aerial (new to us anyways) that we will be whipping out on the floor Friday or Saturday, so be ready for that!
There will be a lot to blog about this weekend. We are going to this swing festival, as I mentioned before. We will be participating in a lot of workshops, and by default we are taking the master’s track (the advanced track was completely full for follows) so maybe I will continue my journey into advanced following technique.
More to come…
