This week has been pretty good for dancing so far.
Monday we spent some time working on the Tranky Doo
Tuesday we went over the Tranky Doo twice with little mistakes. We also worked a little on the big apple. We made it all the way through the dance and made some mistakes, but at least we muddled through. We worked on the extended chase sequence and pretty much got it down in the first try.
Something that I need to work on is feeling what exactly the lead is telling me. I know that there are subtle differences in leading that I don’t fully understand yet. I would like to get a handle on that to make some of these moves easier. I am hoping that this will just come easier with practice. I think I am at a place where I do the move as long as it’s led properly, now I really want to develop my following techniques.
Last night we went over to Kristine’s house to help brush up on their dancing with the Papillion stars routine. They are doing a rumba and we taught them the basic steps so that they had something to work with. We got a little bit of rumba in ourselves, but were too tired to do much else.
Tonight is UNO swing club. Hopefully there will be more than one person there. No matter what James and I are going to tape the two routines at UNO because the floor is big and there is lots of room. Then who knows what else is on the dancing agenda for this evening.
