Last night was a great night of dancing.
James and I actually made it through the Big Apple, with the music, at the correct tempo. I have found that it is actually easier to do it up to speed than slowed down. Not because the moves are easier, but because it gives you no time to think. If you make a mistake, you just keep going. I found that mistakes were smaller at the fast tempo because my movements were smaller.
We did the Big Apple at total of about 5 times all the way through. It’s becoming more comfortable, so it’s becoming a little more fun.
We also did a little work on some of the moves we know but not very well. We worked on the alternate footwork for switching places. James was making it much harder than it needed to be, and now that we have the footwork, it was an easy move to complete. We also worked on the Frankie Pop. I am nervous for being able to tell when it’s the frankie pop versus the other move that starts the same way (we learned it at cowtown and I can’t remember right now what it’s called)
Tonight is ballroom class. Beginning Viennese Waltz and Intermediate West Coast Swing. Should be a fun night of dancing there. Maybe we will get in a few other things at the studio too!
Only 2 more days till Friday!
