To keep away from being a slacker, I am going to try to update every day. I am sure this won’t last long, but it’s worth a try. Yesterday was ballroom class. The first class is beginning Viennese Waltz. We were still working on very very basic moves, and still haven’t even gotten to the basic step. I know this is important when we are learning the basics to these dances, but it sometimes gets boring. At the end of class James led a few of the basics, and while I maybe wasn’t exactly right, I didn’t fall apart. This was a good sign.
The next class was intermediate/ Advanced west coast wing. Much more my style. We spent the first part of class just dancing and reviewing the folding patterns that we had learned last week. We also worked on a little arm styling (per my request :)) We then learned a rolling side pass with a right hand hold. This wasn’t too hard, but it did feel different. We then went in to a closed position move from that. Not sure what it was called, but as long as the leader was doing it, I was following it.
Tonight it Samba and Mambo. I am not really a fan of the Latin dances, but hopefully it’s fun. I would also like to work on the big apple with music. First at a slower pace, and then maybe a few times at the actual speed. I left my gym bag at home so I can’t run over lunch. Maybe I will just do some big apple!
Tomorrow is Friday!!!
